The Supreme's got it right on Obamacare and my talking head.
Hopefully, the final chapter on Obamacare was written on June 25, 2015. The Supreme Court released their opinion in favor of the defendant in KING ET AL. V. BURWELL, SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES,ET AL. The final vote was 6 to 3 with Chief Justice Roberts writing the majority opinion that upheld the intent of the law as it was drafted and passed by Congress in 2010. The following is an excerpt of the majority opinion of the Supreme Court.
My son Eric and I were present when the Supreme Court released their opinion. Just after the release of the Supreme Court opinion we were taken to MSNBC studios in Washington DC for Politics Nation with Rev. Al Sharpton.
Gwen, from Texas, and I would express our opinion to Rev. Shapton about the obvious positive effect of the Supreme Court upholding Obamacare. Had the Supreme's agreed with the plaintiffs in this case, many people would have lost their health care. In addition many healthy insured people would have dropped their coverage due to the lack of subsidies, that would allow them to afford legally required health insurance. As a result this would have left the insurance companies with mostly only those that would require expensive health care.
